Being the Planner

Being the planner means you are constantly asking people to hang out, bringing your friend group together, making decisions about what to do and, oftentimes, hosting your friends. While the planner is a thankless job, it’s a crucial role of any friendship.

Conversation-Starter

Most socialites tend to be the planner without even meaning to since we just always want to be with other people hanging out and enjoying company. Sometimes it gets annoying to always be in charge of gathering humans like a sheep dog, but no one else is gunna do it so it might as well be you.

If you aspire to be the planner, or maybe give your typically-planner friend a break, here is how!

1. Decide you want to hang out with someone/people.

2. Get in contact with said person/people about hanging out to see people’s availability.

3. After you have a final tally of who is available to hang out, have some ideas of what you want to do.

**steps 3 and 4 can be replaced — you can get in contact with people WITH your activity ideas and gauge interest & availability at the same time.

4. Make the plan: make a reservation somewhere if you are going to dinner, decide on a time you’re going to meet for drinks, etc.

Being the planner means you are in charge from start to finish of the planning process. Once you finally meet up with your person/people, you know you have successfully planned a social outing. Congrats, you’re a planner!
